   SWANSEA BOWLING CLUB

The Cheshyre Goblet 2011

The annual competition was played in sunny conditions at Bryn Road. The contest, played between Bishop Gore, and Pen-y-Bryn schools, proved yet again, what a challenging and character building game bowls can be. This year, the format was changed, and the match played as four rinks of pairs. Both teams showed great skills, and were encouraged by staff from both schools, and  helpers and coaches from Swansea Bowling Club .

The final result of a very close contest, was a win by Pen-y-Bryn school.

In attendance, to present the Goblet, was the Lord Mayor of  City and County of Swansea, Councillor Ioan Richard, shown here presenting  the trophy to Pen-y-Bryn Captain Jamie Cooper

Sunny conditions were perfect for bowling, and a break was taken during play for the contestants to enjoy a light meal and refreshments.

During the awards ceremony, a presentation was made to Rawlin Morgan, by Lord Mayor Ioan Richards.

Mr Morgan retires this year from his teaching career at Pen-y-Bryn.  His contribution to this annual event has been considerable, and Swansea Bowling Club wish him every success and enjoyment in his retirement. He is a bowler himself, and we hope that he will now find time to join us at Bryn Road.
